Google Ads uses Google Enhanced Conversions to improve the accuracy of our conversion measurement. It does so by supplementing existing conversion tags by sending hashed first-party conversion data from to Google in a privacy-safe way. The feature uses a secure one-way hashing algorithm called SHA256 on first-party customer data, such as email addresses, before sending to Google. This data is then matched with signed-in Google accounts in order to attribute campaign conversions to ad events, such as clicks or views. This hashed data contains no personal identifiable information and is only used to report aggregated and anonymised conversions. Google is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of the data you share with us.
